Flame Thrower II Canister Coils feature a very low resistance which make the the ideal coil for Ignitor II Electronic Ignition Conversion Kit as well as many other high performance ignitions. Low resistance, higher voltage enables you to run larger spark plug gaps for added power and improved fuel economy.

The Flame-Thrower canister style coil has been engineered to complement our Ignitor Electronic Ignition Conversion Kits and Plug n’ Play Distributors. Choose from the Flame-Thrower, Flame-Thrower II, and the Flame-Thrower III depending upon system voltage and resistance. Oil filled coils offer great heat control for street driven vehicles, while epoxy filled coils provide superior winding support for high vibration environments in off-road vehicles and boats.

 

Warning: Do not mount oil-filled ignition coils upside down or horizontally. Proper vertical installation, with the terminal facing upward, is essential to ensure optimal performance and prevent oil leakage or internal damage. Incorrect mounting may lead to reduced coil efficiency, misfires, or premature failure. For non-vertical mounting applications, use an epoxy-filled coil designed to handle such orientations. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for safe and reliable operation.
